Terms and conditions

Please read carefully the booking terms and conditions set out below before booking your holiday with Chalet Petit Tinqueur. These booking conditions form the basis of your contract with Chalet Petit Tinqueur and set out the respective rights and obligations of both parties.

The Deposit

A deposit of 40% of the total payable is due at the time of booking to secure the reservation.

Payment of balance

The balance of the holiday must be paid to Chalet Petit Tinqueur no later than 60 days before the commencement date of the holiday. For bookings made within 60 days of the commencement date, the full cost of the holiday is payable at the time of booking. In all cases Chalet Petit Tinqueur reserves the right to cancel the holiday arrangements without any obligation to the customer if he/she fails to make the payments as stipulated.

Prices

All prices are listed in Euros. Euro payments are accepted by cheque, bank transfer, or Mastercard or Visa credit/debit card. (Chalet Petit Tinqueur reserves the right to levy a surcharge of 2% for payments made by credit/debit card.) Sterling payments can sometimes be accepted by special arrangement (subject to £ : € exhange rates). Chalet Petit Tinqueur reserves the right to change the website prices at any time before your booking is accepted. Once your booking has been accepted we guarantee that the price will not change and no surcharges will be added unless you amend your booking in any way.

Cancellation or Alterations by the Client

If for any reason you or a member of your group has to cancel their holiday a cancellation charge will apply as set out below. Cancellations will take effect only when written notification from the person signing the booking form is received by Chalet Petit Tinqueur. Cancellation fees will be charged as follows:

Notification received before holiday commencement date.

60 days - loss of deposit (40%)

59 to 42 days - 60%

41 to 29 days - 70%

22 to 28 days - 90%

Less than 21 days - 100%

Cancellation or Alterations by Chalet Petit Tinqueur

In the unlikely event that because of situations beyond the control of Chalet Petit Tinqueur we have to make any major alterations to or cancel your holiday you will be entitled to a full refund. If this happens we will let you know as soon as possible and offer you an alternative holiday date where possible or a full refund.

We regret that Chalet Petit Tinqueur is unable to accept any liability whatsoever where the performance of our contractual obligations is prevented or affected by reason of circumstances amounting to “force majeure”. Force majeure means unusual or unforeseen circumstances (war, terrorist activity, adverse weather conditions, industrial dispute, fire, natural or nuclear disaster etc). We accept no liability in the event of such circumstances to compensate the client for loss of opportunity to take and enjoy a holiday.

Chalet Petit Tinqueur Liability

Chalet Petit Tinqueur accepts responsibility for ensuring that the holidays that you book with us are supplied to you as described on the website and the services offered reach a reasonable standard. If any part is not provided as promised, we will pay you appropriate compensation, if this has affected the enjoyment of your holiday.

Chalet Petit Tinqueur does not accept responsibility where there has been no fault on the part of the company or its suppliers.

Chalet Petit Tinqueur will not arrange your travel by sea, rail or air and accordingly Chalet Petit Tinqueur cannot accept responsibility for injury or loss suffered as the result of the acts or omissions of the providers of such services. Such arrangements are entirely your responsibility and you should ensure that they are made through a reputable provider.

Arrivals and Departures

Please note that your accommodation will only be available after 5pm on the agreed day of arrival and you must vacate your accommodation by 10am on the agreed day of departure.

Damage by and behaviour of the Clients

All damages and breakages caused by any client will be charged back to the client and must be paid in full before vacating the chalet. The client must undertake to behave in an orderly manner and not disrupt the enjoyment of others on holiday or in anyway harm the reputation of Chalet Petit Tinqueur with local residents or suppliers. The holiday of any client or party in breach of this clause will be terminated immediately and without compensation and Chalet Petit Tinqueur will have no further contractual obligations towards them.

Self-cater guests are required to provide a refundable damage deposit in the form of valid Mastercard or Visa credit/debit card details to the value of 350€ before gaining entry to any accommodation.

Group Bookings

Chalet Petit Tinqueur reserves the right to have other parties staying in the chalet during your holiday unless you specify at the time of booking that you want to book the chalet for the sole occupancy of your party.

Insurance

It is a condition of booking that all clients must either take out the insurance offered via Chalet Petit Tinqueur from Fogg Insurance (www.fogginsure.co.uk) or purchase their own insurance at time of booking which offers equal or greater cover than that provided by the Chalet Petit Tinqueur policy. Those persons not purchasing the Chalet Petit Tinqueur insurance must provide details of their alternative insurance cover.

Website Accuracy

Chalet Petit Tinqueur has made every effort to ensure that the information contained within the website is correct but such information may be subject to alteration. It should be noted that the resort facts are for guidance only and the pictures shown on the website are used to give a general impression of the accommodation offered.

Complaints by the Client

Should a problem occur during your holiday please inform a member of the Chalet Petit Tinqueur resort team as soon as possible. We will then do everything we can to resolve the problem. If the complaint cannot be resolved in the resort, please write to us at Chalet Petit Tinqueur, 228 Clos des Vorgeats, 74400 CHAMONIX, France within 28 days of your return from your holiday, giving all the relevant information. We regret that we cannot accept liability in respect of any complaints, which are not notified entirely in accordance with this clause.

Passports, Visa and Health

At the current time, people holding full British or EU Passports do not require a visa to visit France. For people travelling from other countries outside the EU, please consult your embassies for any visa requirements. Please note that children must hold their own passports. It can take up to 4 weeks to issue or renew a passport, so please allow yourself enough time if it is necessary to do so.

No vaccinations are required for visiting France at the current time.

Jurisdiction

The laws applied to the utilisation of the website and to all contractual commitments the customer agreed to via the website, are the current laws of France.

All customers are responsible for, and agree to, the fact that information entered by them on the Chalet Petit Tinqueur website forms is correct and up to date, and does not contain any topics or information which may infringe on the current legislation applied in France.
